A Letter from Our Owners
Dearest Carbon family and friends,
Amanda and Richard here. We have some very important updates we’d like to pass concerning any upcoming appointments.
There are multiple points we need to share, and we therefore ask that you please read the following message carefully, as it may affect your upcoming appointments. Also, check back often as we’ll keep this information as current as we possibly can.
Everyone in our country, and fellow human-beings across the world, have had to make extremely difficult choices in the last few days/weeks/months. Government mandates and suggestions at all levels can change by the hour, and it seems the numbers in which we can congregate are dwindling to ensure social distancing is taking place.
Social distancing is our greatest known weapon against this unseen enemy. We believe sometimes doing “nothing” is really “something” and simply the best course of action. However, social distancing doesn’t lend itself very well to salon operations, and it poses a considerable dilemma for our clients and employees.
In our eyes, we have two main responsibilities to uphold and consider while making decisions in this pandemic: moral responsibility and fiscal responsibility. We have endeavored to find a position in which we can be both morally and fiscally responsible, to keep our community safe while still providing for our employees.
While it’s not perfect by any means, and subject to change at any point with government updates, the following is our plan until further notice.
We are limiting the total number of people in the salon at any given time to 10.
- 5 Employees
- 5 Clients
Clients, for your appointment, as much as we hate saying this, we can only allow you (and you alone) into the salon for your appointment. This is for everyone’s safety and well-being to limit the total number of people in the salon at any time to 10. Until further notice, we cannot allow children, family, or friends to accompany you to your appointments.
This will allow us to have greater than 6 feet of distance between our clients, and one empty chair between each client/station.
Safety and Feeling Symptoms
PLEASE stay home if you feel any symptoms. We cannot stress this enough. The symptoms/signs of COVID-19 are very similar to a cold, and you may show very little symptoms at all. We are trying to keep everyone safe, which requires a group effort.
All Carbon Salon employees have been instructed to do the same.
If you meet any of the following criteria within the last two weeks, we ask that you please stay home:
- Foreign travel
- Been in large groups or crowds (concerts, event venues, etc.)
- You, or anyone in your household, have had ANY flu-like symptoms.
- Please understand that if we feel you are exhibiting signs, we retain the right to refuse service, and may ask guests to reschedule.
Our Waiting Room is Now Your Vehicle
To limit the number of people, we are closing our waiting room.
We ask that you remain in your vehicle close-by
Once we have finished checking out our previous client, we will thoroughly clean both the register and station
We will personally text or call you when it is time to come in
Once you have entered the salon, we will ask you to immediately wash your hands or use hand sanitizer.
This is for your benefit and those in the salon
We will do the same for your safety
If you feel you need hand sanitizer at ANY point in your service, please let your stylist know. We’ll be happy to bring a bottle over.
Changes to Operating Hours
We have opened up Mondays to mitigate, as much as possible, lost appointment time.
Our operating hours may fluctuate, and we may close early, if we do not have any appointments for the rest of the day.
We can only ask for your patience and understanding as we do our best to navigate this situation.
While subtle, there are additional changes you might notice while in the salon:
- Physical contact will be limited to only that required by the service. Handshakes, hugs, and other things we normally enjoy will have to be put on hold for now.
- We will wear gloves for as much of the service allows for the safety of our clients and employees
- If you get our voicemail when you call, PLEASE leave a message. We will be hyper-vigilant in checking these messages, and someone will return your call as soon as possible.
By adhering to these rules, you are allowing us to continue to provide you a service and provide some level of relief for all of our employees.
We thank you for helping to keep our community, staff, and families safe.
We hope to resume normal business as soon as possible, though this could extend for months.
We are proud to serve, and be a part of, a community that shows such resilience in trying times. We are truly inspired by your love and support.
